Hello, I am Maria!
I am a Health Economist currently working as a Research Fellow at the Manchester Centre for Health economics at the University of Manchester. I hold an advisory role in methodology within the NIHR Research Support Service (RSS) Hub, and I also serve as a Centre Lead, representing the Manchester Centre for Health Economics in the North West Health Economics Group.
Currently, my research focuses on pharmacogenomics and more specifically on the cost-effectiveness analysis and microcosting of pharmacogenomic panel testing.
Previously, I worked at University of Strathclyde, Department of Mathematics and Statistics as a Research Associate. My expertise include economic valuation methods in environment and agriculture (Discrete Choice Modelling), bio-economic modelling, solving constrained optimization problems (using portfolio approach) in the context of forest economics and disease management. I have extensive experience collaborating on various projects in interdisciplinary teams. I also have extensive experience teaching in economics and an associate fellowship in Higher Education.
Research interests
My research interests are in the areas of applied microeconomics more specifically applications in health, environment, agriculture, and behavioural economics.
